- meet the training qualifications described below
- are affiliated with a Licensed Delivery Center and

More Information on the Train-The-Trainer Program:
Only top class experienced/qualified trainers will be accepted onto the Paul Ekman International 'Train the Trainer' programs. Although most professional/experienced trainers succeed, attendance on the course does not guarantee acceptance as an approved trainer – this is a selection and development process.
Most trainer applicants have significant experience in the emotional/deception/communication fields, many have a solid social science background and will have already attended the Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility (ETaC) and/or the Emotional Skills and Competencies (ESaC) courses so they have experienced the course(s) as delegates. This is a selection and development event and attendees need to evidence their facilitation expertise, question management skills and Ekman related content mastery during the event. Assessment is competence based and the bulk of the evidence must be seen/heard during the event. Historical achievements in different contexts and promises of intent after the event carry very little weight in the assessment.
The quality assurance process also requires Trained Trainers to deliver multiple events in English until they are Approved. English language ability needs to be at a level to support this. IELTS Level 6 (see www.ielts.org) is a minimum recommended standard though final assessment is made by PEI. Trainers who pass this course will then be on probation for at least three events (for each course they plan to deliver) as Co-Trainers. These events are attended/video recorded by Paul Ekman International assessors with support throughout.
You will have established, or be working within, a Licensed Delivery Centre(LDC). Paul Ekman International does not accredit freelance trainers outside of the quality assurance framework of the LDCs. All Ekman approved courses are delivered by a minimum of two trained, approved trainers to assure a high quality learning experience for our clients who attend the courses.
