Post Graduate Certificate or MSc in Emotions, Credibility and Deception
People Intelligence Institute is proud to partner with the Emotional Intelligence Academy to offer courses as part of the all new PG Certificate in Forensic Emotion Awareness leading to a Masters degree in Emotions, Credibility and Deception. Following 3 years of development, the Emotional Intelligence Academy is now accepting applications to the all new Masters degree program in Emotions, Credibility and Deception for the 2013/14 academic year.
The program is a partnership between the Emotional Intelligence Academy and The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and is being offered in a blended learning format to accommodate distance learners. Through its Paul Ekman International Approved Centers and blended learning approach EIA is making the program accessible to an international audience.
Program Phases:
Phase 1: PG Certificate in Forensic Emotion Awareness
This unique blend of six first year modules provides a 60 credit building block, foundation for the UCLAN PG Diploma and MSc, in which the relationship between emotion awareness, credibility and deception (and their detection) are explored in greater detail, from a variety of linguistic, non-verbal and psychological perspectives (subject to validation). These modules are delivered in a blended, modulal format using textbooks, workbooks and online media and resources to minimize necessary travel.
The first three modules of the PG Certificate are available at our PII training site and upon successful passing credit will be given towards the PG Certificate.

Emotional Skills and Competencies (ESaC) - register for the upcoming ESaC

A 3-day course that requires attendance at one of the Paul Ekman International Approved Delivery Centers around the world. A knowledge test and video based skills assignment must be submitted and passed at 65%+ for this module.

- Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility (ETaC) - register for the upcoming ETaC

A 4-day course that also requires attendance at one of the Paul Ekman International Licensed Delivery Centres around theworld. Some centres are offering these together as a 7 day course. A knowledge test and a video based skills assignmentmust be submitted and passed at 65%+ for this module. Payment for these is direct to the providing centre.

- The Anatomy of the Face (FACS) - register for the upcoming FACS

A 5 day course held in New Jersey or Manchester, UK and students must acquire the FACS Manual and study the first 3 chapters before attendance at the workshop. If you are FACS Certified you will be exempt from the attendance part of this module thoughyou will also have to submit an assignment in addition to the FACS Final Test.

- Attentiveness and Mindfulness- see EIA website for upcoming A&M module

The A&M course does not require in-person attendance. It involves study of texts and use of CDs. Delegates will keep a log of sessions with reflective notes for the assessment of this part of the module.

- Psychophysiology - ANS/Brain- see EIA website for upcoming module

A 2-day workshop that will be delivered in Manchester. It will require prior reading.

- Forensic Interviewing and Conversation Management- see EIA website for upcoming FICM module

A 2-day course and this will be arranged immediately following the above module making it into a 4-day module altogether.

This six module foundation provides the necessary courses for year 1 of the Masters degree program. Upon successful completion of the six modules, students are awarded a PG Certificate in Forensic Emotion Awareness.
